Welsh Assembly Government
The Welsh Assembly Government is able to provide a wide range of support to both indigenous and foreign owned companies with their investment plans. The range of support can be wide, from research and development to researching overseas markets, capital expenditure and employment plus training and development of staff.
One of the key sources of support for a typical investment is the Single Investment Fund (SIF) assistance. This is a grant scheme that is available to encourage both new investment projects and also can be used to retain existing business in Wales. The scheme is available throughout most of Wales, giving Wales the largest area of the UK with some of the highest grant status locations in the UK. This programme is designed to make applying for grant aid easier for a company. Therefore there is no separate application process for grants towards research and development, building a factory etc – it is all included in this one scheme. For more information, click here.
