The BT shop at 12 Merthyr Road, Whitchurch, is to be officially opened on Thursday, October 1 but visitors can go along Monday to Saturday from 10am to 6pm.
The shop will showcase many aspects of super-fast broadband, including home and business applications, gaming, downloads, cloud computing, CCTV and the future of TV.
Visitors will be able to see the difference in speed between super-fast and conventional adsl broadband where web pages, photos and new business tools download in a fraction of a second and movies in minutes.

More than 1,500 homes and businesses have already signed up with BT Retail to “test-drive” the new technology. The free trial runs until the end of January 2010. Ann Beynon, BT Director for Wales, said “We have had an excellent response from people in Whitchurch signing up for the trial and this new shop provides a superb opportunity for more local people to see what the technology can do for them.”
The trials are part of BT Group’s first major phase of the UK’s biggest ever investment programme in super-fast broadband. BT has pledged to spend £1.5 billion by 2012 to ensure 40 per cent of UK homes and businesses – some 10 million premises – can enjoy fibre-based super-fast broadband.
